Did Zodiac flea treatment for dogs work for you?

Have you used Zodiac flea drops? Did it work?|||One of the ingredients is permethrin, and I found this info on it:

The insecticide permethrin (in the synthetic pyrethroid family) is widely used on cotton, wheat, corn, alfalfa, and other crops. In addition, over 100 million applications are made annually in and around U.S. homes.

Permethrin, like all synthetic pyrethroids, is a neurotoxin. Symptoms include tremors, incoordination, elevated body temperature, increased aggressive behavior, and disruption of learning. Laboratory tests suggest that permethrin is more acutely toxic to children than to adults.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has classified permethrin as a carcinogen because it causes lung tumors in female mice and liver tumors in mice of both sexes. Permethrin inhibits the activity of the immune system in laboratory tests, and also binds to the receptors for a male sex hormone. It causes chromosome aberrations in human and hamster cells.

Personally, I wouldn't use something like that on my animals. If you go to this website http://www.thepetwhisperer.com/Fleas.htm鈥?/a> you'll find natural remedies for fleas, ticks, and mosquitos from a vet with 25+ years of experience.|||I personally wouldnt use the cheap flea products. They really dont work, and many have been prooven to cause dangerous side effects, even death!

Frontline, Advantage, Resolution and Advantix are good, and are far safer than the cheap products (do not use Advantix if you have cats tho, as its highly toxic to cats!)|||I wasn't aware Zodiac WAS a grocery store brand? Certainly can't get it in grocery stores here - only spcecialist pet stores..

Anyhow, we've not used the treatment that goes on the dog - we use Frontline for that - but we did use Zodiac spray all around the house and it worked great.|||Don't use any of the flea medications that you find at the grocery store. They are known to cause alot of bad reactions in cats and dogs. Stick to reputable flea preventatives such as Frontline, Revolution and Advantage.|||I'd say go with a better, vet-approved brand, like Frontline or something similar. An old friend of mine used one of the store brands of flea medication, and now has a brain damaged cat to show for it.
